Edmond Electric has been the city owned electric utility for Edmond, Oklahoma since 1908. It is the largest municipal electric utility in the State of Oklahoma. We are located 13 miles north of downtown Oklahoma City, in the center of the State. Edmond Electric serves 36,000 customers with a reliability rating of 99.9 percent. Not only are we reliable, but Edmond Electric’s contribution to the general fund supports vital city services such as police, fire, streets, and parks. Because of Edmond Electric’s support, Edmond maintains a high quality of living yet has one of the lowest sales tax rates in the state. Edmond Electric consistently receives recognition for its value to the community in awards such as Tree Line USA, APPA’s RP3, and the National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) for our Wind Power Program.
