Electric customers in the City of Waynoka will be without power for a brief period on the morning of Friday, Aug. 1, as maintenance is performed on the electric system.
The power outage is scheduled for 3 a.m., and is expected to last from one to three hours. The time period will allow for the replacement of a pole on the Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority’s (OMPA) 24,000-volt line. OMPA is the City of Waynoka’s wholesale power supplier.
It is occasionally necessary for utilities to turn off portions of their electric system to perform upgrades, repairs and other maintenance which improves safety and can increase the reliability of service to their customers.
