All Power Restored to the City of Comanche
All power to the City of Comanche was restored at 02:07 AM today. Power in Comanche was originally lost on Tuesday morning due to a failed circuit switcher on the transformer at the Comanche substation. After receiving news of the failed circuit switcher, OMPA Engineering and the City of Comanche worked to disconnect the failed circuit switcher from the main station transformer.
Duncan Power crews arrived to assist Comanche in building a temporary cable around the failed circuit switcher, to allow the older transformer to be placed back in service. City of Comanche and Duncan Power crews worked throughout the night to get power restored.
Power was restored to the old transformer around 1:05AM Wednesday. After the unit warmed up to take load, city crews begin placing load on the unit beginning at 1:30 AM and all power to customers was restored by 2:07 AM.
OMPA would like to extend our appreciation to the crews from Duncan Power for assisting the City of Comanche for their work on the damaged substation. Both city crews worked long hours, in order to assure power was restored to all of Comanche’s customers as quickly as possible under this extreme situation.
The City of Comanche appreciates their customers’ patience and understanding during this situation. Approximately 900 customers were affected during the outage.
