Bunn To Fill Vacancy on OMPA Board of Directors

Dale Bunn, City Manager of Purcell, was recommended by the Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority’s (OMPA) Board of Directors Nominations 50c0bb7a3c702_imageCommittee to fill a vacancy on the board for the remainder of the term expiring in September 2015.  He was confirmed by the board at the August 8th monthly meeting to fill the vacancy until the Electors meeting and will be voted on at the 2013 Annual Electors’ Meeting to complete the term.  The Electors meeting will be held on Thursday, September 12th at 1 pm at the Roland H. Dawson Headquarters Building in Edmond.

Mr. Bunn has served as Purcell’s City Manager and General Manager of the Purcell Public Works Authority since May 2, 2011.  Before being hired by Purcell, he was the Director of Economic Development, Human Resources, Airport for the City of Fort Scott, Kansas from December 2006 to February 2011.  He supervised the departments of community development, building codes and nuisance enforcement and the airport.  Mr. Bunn was also involved in planning and zoning, the historic district, revitalization, business expansion, retention and recruitment, along with government relations.

The Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority (OMPA) is a municipal joint-action agency created for the purpose of providing an adequate, reliable and affordable supply of electrical power and energy to Oklahoma’s municipally owned electric systems.  The Authority presently serves 39 municipally owned electric systems in Oklahoma.  As a consumer-owned public power entity, OMPA is owned by the member cities it serves.
